Hey this is Shiv! A thirty something guy based out of Bangalore, India. By profession I am a software developer. Naturally what drives me thus is building software, some great software to make the world a more open and connected place.
I am in complete awe of the technology today and the incredible speed at which it is evolving. If I had to choose one source to credit for whatever I know today it surely would be the free and open internet. To keep the flow going, I maintain this blog to share whatever little I learn building or reading things. The idea is twofold: 1) To pass on what I know and 2) To be corrected where I am wrong.
I have been working on databases and streaming systems for over a decade. I currently heads the distributed data org at Nutanix. Previously, I have worked on organisations big and small, as a software engineer at MySQL Replication, 5th engineer at MoveInSync working on a host of things including microservices, observability infrastructure, cloud and databases, designed and implemented the help chat bot and metadata catalogue for all data at Swiggy (India’s Doordash). Very active in the Open Source software community and a regular speaker at Open Source conferences, I have contributed over 25 patches to MySQL and Apache Pulsar open source code bases.
